BTM003

BTM003 is an investigational bladder mucosal repair agent being developed by BioJeTay for the treatment of interstitial cystitis (IC), also known as painful bladder syndrome. The therapeutic is designed to replenish the glycosaminoglycan (GAG) layer of the bladder epithelium, which serves as a protective barrier against urinary irritants. In patients with IC, this layer is often damaged or deficient, leading to increased permeability of the bladder wall, which allows irritants to reach underlying nerves and muscle tissue, causing inflammation and chronic pain. BTM003 is administered via intravesical instillation to restore the bladder's natural defense mechanism and alleviate symptoms such as pelvic pain, urinary urgency, and frequency.
