Overview

BTP0611 is an orally bioavailable small molecule soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC) stimulator developed by Jiangsu Nuohobito New Drug Research and Development Co., Ltd. It is primarily being investigated for the treatment of chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). The drug works by directly stimulating sGC and sensitizing the enzyme to endogenous nitric oxide (NO), which leads to increased production of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). This signaling pathway promotes systemic and pulmonary vasodilation, reduces cardiac hypertrophy and fibrosis, and improves overall myocardial efficiency. BTP0611 aims to address the impaired NO-sGC-cGMP signaling pathway that is characteristic of heart failure, providing a therapeutic mechanism similar to that of vericiguat.
