Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BTX 1204 is a topical synthetic cannabidiol (CBD) solution developed by Botanix Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of moderate atopic dermatitis (eczema). The drug utilizes Botanix's proprietary Permetrex drug delivery technology, which is designed to enhance the penetration of the active ingredient through the skin's lipid layers. BTX 1204 targets multiple pathological pathways of atopic dermatitis, including the inhibition of keratinocyte proliferation, modulation of immune-mediated inflammatory responses, and reduction of bacterial colonization (such as *Staphylococcus aureus*). Formulated as a 4% (w/w) solution, it has been evaluated in Phase 1b and Phase 2 clinical trials, demonstrating a favorable safety profile and efficacy in improving clinical signs of eczema compared to vehicle controls.
