BTX 1702

BTX 1702 is a topical gel formulation of synthetic cannabidiol (CBD) being developed by Botanix Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of papulopustular rosacea. The therapeutic utilizes the proprietary Permetrex drug delivery system to facilitate the delivery of CBD into the skin. Its mechanism of action involves both anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activities, addressing the underlying causes of rosacea lesions. Clinical data from a Phase 1b/2 study showed that a 10% concentration significantly reduced inflammatory lesions and was safe and well-tolerated in patients with moderate to severe disease, positioning it as a potential best-in-class treatment for this chronic inflammatory skin condition.
