Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bu-Shen Hua-tan is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed based on the therapeutic principles of tonifying the kidneys, strengthening the spleen, eliminating dampness, and resolving phlegm. It is primarily investigated for the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and associated female infertility. Clinical and preclinical studies suggest that Bu-Shen Hua-tan improves reproductive and endocrine metabolic disorders, enhances pregnancy and ovulation rates, and increases endometrial thickness. Its therapeutic mechanisms are believed to involve the regulation of hormone levels, improvement of insulin resistance, alleviation of inflammation, and activation of the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway, potentially inhibiting GSDMD-mediated pyroptosis and TP53-mediated ferroptosis.
