Overview
Bu-Shen Hua-Yu granules (also known as Bushen Huayu granules or Bushen Huayu Recipe) is an investigational traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Shanghai 6th People's Hospital. It is designed to tonify the kidney, resolve phlegm, remove blood stasis, and dredge collaterals. The formulation consists of six main herbal and animal-derived ingredients: *Cistanche deserticola* (Rou Cong-Rong), *Pheretima aspergillum* (Dilong), *Alpinia oxyphylla* (Yizhiren), *Salvia miltiorrhiza* (Danshen), *Radix Curcumae* (Yujin), and leech (Shuizhi). Bu-Shen Hua-Yu granules are being evaluated in clinical trials as an integrative traditional Chinese and Western medicine strategy to improve blood pressure variability, cognitive function, and arterial stiffness in patients with cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD).
