Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bucosept is a line of oral and throat care products developed and marketed by the Romanian pharmaceutical company Bioeel. The product line includes throat lozenges (comprimate de supt / comprimate masticabile) and throat sprays (Bucosept Spray and Bucosept HA Spray) designed to soothe sore throats, ease breathing, and freshen breath. Historically, the classic Bucosept lozenge formulation contained the antiseptic dequalinium chloride combined with eucalyptus and peppermint essential oils. More recent formulations are marketed as dietary supplements containing Iceland moss (Cetraria islandica) extract, vitamin C, and a blend of volatile oils (eucalyptus, peppermint, thyme, clove, and anise) to support respiratory health and immune function. Additionally, the Bucosept Spray and Bucosept HA Spray are medical devices formulated with Iceland moss and marshmallow extracts to form a protective, moisturizing barrier over the oropharyngeal mucosa.
