Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Budeplux is a branded generic formulation of budesonide, a potent synthetic glucocorticoid with high local anti-inflammatory activity. Developed and marketed by Laboratorios Mallén, it is primarily indicated for the management of respiratory and allergic conditions, including bronchial asthma and allergic rhinitis. Budesonide functions as a glucocorticoid receptor agonist; upon binding, it inhibits the expression of multiple inflammatory genes and reduces the recruitment and activation of inflammatory cells such as mast cells, eosinophils, and lymphocytes. This action leads to a reduction in mucosal edema, airway hyperresponsiveness, and secretions, making it an effective maintenance therapy for chronic inflammatory airway diseases.
