Drug intelligence / Profile preview
UI030 is an inhaled combination drug composed of budesonide and arformoterol, developed for the treatment of COVID-19. Budesonide is a corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory properties, while arformoterol is a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) that acts as a bronchodilator. The combination aims to provide both antiviral and immune-modulating effects in patients with moderate to severe COVID-19. Developed by Korea United Pharm, UI030 has undergone phase 1 trials demonstrating safety and inhalation efficiency, and entered phase 2 clinical trials in South Korea for efficacy and safety evaluation in COVID-19 patients. The product is designed as an at-home self-treatment option delivered via inhaler[3].
