Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JW202313 is an inhaled triple combination therapy developed by Shandong Jingwei Pharmaceutical (Jewim Pharmaceutical) for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma. Formulated as an inhalation powder for delivery via a dry powder inhaler (DPI), it consists of three active ingredients: budesonide (an inhaled corticosteroid), glycopyrronium bromide (a long-acting muscarinic antagonist, or LAMA), and formoterol fumarate (a long-acting beta-2 agonist, or LABA). The therapy provides a multi-targeted approach to respiratory disease management: budesonide reduces airway inflammation by activating glucocorticoid receptors; glycopyrronium bromide induces bronchodilation by antagonizing M3 muscarinic receptors; and formoterol fumarate provides sustained bronchodilation by stimulating beta-2 adrenergic receptors. Classified as a Class 2.2/2.4 improved drug in China, JW202313 is currently in Phase II clinical development, with studies evaluating its pharmacokinetic profile and clinical efficacy in comparison to established triple and dual therapies such as Breztri Aerosphere and Symbicort.
