Overview

CF017 is a budesonide suspension for inhalation, approved as a front-line therapy for bronchial asthma in China. Budesonide is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid that acts as an anti-inflammatory agent primarily in the respiratory tract. It reduces airway inflammation by modulating gene expression via the glucocorticoid receptor, leading to decreased production of inflammatory mediators and cytokines. CF017 was developed to match global blockbuster inhalation drugs and is one of the highest-selling inhalational therapies in China for bronchial asthma, quickly achieving substantial market share since its approval in May 2021.
