budigalimab

Budigalimab is a humanized, recombinant immunoglobulin G1 monoclonal antibody targeting programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1). It functions as an immune checkpoint inhibitor by binding to PD-1 and blocking its interaction with PD-L1 (programmed cell death ligand 1), thereby preventing the activation of downstream signaling pathways that suppress immune responses. This mechanism restores immune function through the activation of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs), enhancing the body's ability to fight cancer cells or viruses. Budigalimab is under clinical investigation for various cancers and viral infections by AbbVie.
