**Budigalimab + venetoclax** is an investigational combination regimen comprising two distinct drugs: budigalimab (ABBV-181), a humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody targeting programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1), and venetoclax (ABT-199), a selective B-cell lymphoma 2 (BCL-2) inhibitor. Budigalimab is designed to enhance immune-mediated antitumor activity by blocking the PD-1 receptor, thus overcoming immune checkpoint-mediated suppression of T-cell function. Venetoclax induces apoptosis in cancer cells by inhibiting the anti-apoptotic BCL-2 protein, which is often overexpressed in hematologic and solid malignancies. The combination is being studied primarily for potential synergistic effects in solid tumors, especially metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)[1][2][4].
