It is primarily indicated for the treatment of fatty liver disease and severe hypertriglyceridemia (SHTG). The formula is designed to tonify the liver and regulate lipid metabolism. In clinical research, it is often evaluated in combination with blood purification techniques like the Dual Plasma Exchange System (DFPP) to stabilize blood lipid oscillation and modulate lipid disorders. Research suggests that Bugan Lizhi Tang may exert its therapeutic effects by modulating the Hepatitis C virus core-binding protein 6 (HCBP6), which plays a role in lipid metabolism disorders.
