Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bugushengsuifang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula primarily utilized for the treatment of bone-related disorders and spinal cord injuries (SCI). Based on the TCM principle of "tonifying the kidney to generate marrow and strengthen bone," the formula is typically composed of several botanical extracts, including *Rehmannia glutinosa*, *Drynaria fortunei*, *Epimedium brevicornu*, and *Psoralea corylifolia*. It is frequently investigated for its neuroprotective and osteogenic properties. Research indicates that Bugushengsuifang may promote functional recovery after spinal cord injury by inhibiting neuronal apoptosis, reducing inflammatory responses, and modulating the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. In the context of bone health, it has been shown to enhance osteoblast differentiation and improve bone mineral density by upregulating Bone Morphogenetic Protein 2 (BMP-2) and adjusting the OPG/RANKL ratio.
