Overview
Bujingyishi is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the Teaching Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is formulated based on the therapeutic principle of "Tonifying the Kidney and Activating Blood" (BuShengHuoXue). The drug is primarily indicated for the improvement of visual function in patients with glaucoma whose intraocular pressure (IOP) has been successfully controlled. It aims to address the underlying TCM patterns of essence deficiency and blood stasis, which are believed to contribute to progressive optic nerve damage. As a hospital-specific preparation, it is utilized within the clinical practice of the sponsoring institution as an adjunctive therapy to preserve vision and provide neuroprotection.
