Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bulkamid is a urethral bulking agent used to treat stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in women. It is a transparent polyacrylamide hydrogel consisting of 97.5% water and 2.5% polyacrylamide that is injected into the submucosal tissue of the proximal urethra. The gel adds volume to the urethral wall, improving urethral coaptation and helping prevent urine leakage during physical activities. It remains in place without migrating or breaking down in the body, providing long-lasting relief.
