Overview

Bulleyaconitine is a diterpene alkaloid naturally derived from the plant *Aconitum bulleyanum*. It is primarily utilized in China as a non-narcotic analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent for the management of chronic pain conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and various neuropathic pain syndromes. The drug's mechanism of action involves the potent inhibition of voltage-gated sodium channels, which suppresses the generation and conduction of nerve impulses in pain pathways. Additionally, bulleyaconitine has been shown to stimulate the release of endogenous opioid peptides such as dynorphin A and modulate the reuptake of monoamine neurotransmitters like norepinephrine and serotonin. It is commonly formulated as soft capsules for oral administration.
