Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BunyaVax 4s is a live-attenuated vaccine platform developed by Bunyavax, specifically targeting the Rift Valley fever virus (RVFV). The technology utilizes a unique four-segmented genome approach where the M genome segment of the virus is split into two distinct M-type segments. This modification ensures complete safety, even in pregnant animals, while maintaining high immunogenicity. The vaccine is being developed for both veterinary use (sheep, goats, and cattle) and human use, with the human program (LARISSA project) receiving funding from CEPI. It primarily targets the Gn and Gc glycoproteins of the RVFV to induce protective immunity.
