Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Buparid is a specialized formulation of the corticosteroid budesonide, developed by Pari Pharma for the treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). Unlike standard nasal sprays, Buparid is administered via the PARI SINUS nebulizer, which utilizes a pulsating aerosol delivery system to enhance drug penetration into the paranasal sinuses. As a glucocorticoid receptor agonist, budesonide exerts potent anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the expression of pro-inflammatory genes and reducing the infiltration of inflammatory cells such as eosinophils. This targeted delivery approach aims to reduce polyp size and alleviate symptoms more effectively than conventional topicals, potentially reducing the need for surgical intervention in patients with refractory disease.
