Buparlisib + docetaxel is an investigational drug combination consisting of **buparlisib (BKM120)**, a pan-class I phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K) inhibitor, and **docetaxel**, a microtubule-stabilizing taxane chemotherapy. Buparlisib inhibits the PI3K pathway, which is commonly activated in many cancers, contributing to tumor growth, survival, and resistance to therapies. Docetaxel interferes with cell division by binding to and stabilizing microtubules, leading to cancer cell death. This combination is developed primarily for patients with advanced or metastatic squamous non-small cell lung cancer, and has been considered in other solid malignancies, aiming to enhance antitumor activity by targeting two pathways: cell signaling (PI3K) and mitosis (cell cycle)[1].
