Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Buparlisib + trametinib is a combination therapy that targets two important signaling pathways in cancer cells. Buparlisib is a pan-class PI3K inhibitor that blocks the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway, while trametinib is a MEK inhibitor that blocks the MAPK pathway. This dual inhibition approach aims to overcome resistance mechanisms that can develop when either pathway is targeted alone. The combination has shown promising antitumor activity particularly in patients with KRAS-mutant ovarian cancer.
