Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**BupARO** is a development-stage, matrix-based fixed-dose combination from SafeRx Pharmaceuticals containing buprenorphine hydrochloride, naloxone hydrochloride, and disulfiram. It is part of SafeRx's alcohol-resistant opioid platform and is intended for opioid use disorder and moderate-to-severe pain refractory to non-opioid therapy when enforced alcohol sobriety is desired. Buprenorphine provides partial mu-opioid receptor agonism, naloxone provides opioid-receptor antagonism intended to deter parenteral misuse, and disulfiram inhibits aldehyde dehydrogenase to deter alcohol consumption and reduce the danger of concurrent opioid and alcohol exposure.
