Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This product is a **combination injection kit** containing **bupivacaine hydrochloride**, **lidocaine hydrochloride**, **povidone-iodine**, and **triamcinolone acetonide**. It combines two amide-type local anesthetics with a corticosteroid and an antiseptic for office-based injection and pain-management procedures such as infiltration, nerve block, epidural, intra-articular, and intramuscular administration. Bupivacaine and lidocaine produce local anesthesia by reversibly blocking voltage-gated sodium channels and thereby preventing nerve impulse initiation and conduction, while triamcinolone acetonide is a synthetic glucocorticoid that suppresses inflammatory signaling through glucocorticoid receptor activation; povidone-iodine provides broad antiseptic activity for procedural skin preparation. The product has been marketed in kit presentations under brands including MLK F4 KIT, P-CARE K40MX, P-CARE K80MX, BT Injection Kit, and MLP A-2 by companies such as Asclemed USA, RX PHARMA-PACK, and SA3. At least one marketed formulation, MLK F4 KIT, has been noted as not found by FDA to be safe and effective and its labeling has not been approved by FDA.
