Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Buruike (bupivacaine liposome injectable suspension) is an extended-release local anesthetic developed by Hunan Kelun Pharmaceutical. It consists of bupivacaine, a small molecule that inhibits nerve impulse conduction by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels (Nav) on the internal surface of nerve cell membranes. The drug is encapsulated within a multivesicular liposomal formulation, which allows for a slow, controlled release of the active ingredient over an extended period (up to 72 hours). It is administered via local infiltration or regional nerve block for the management of postoperative pain and to provide local or regional anesthesia, offering a longer duration of action compared to traditional bupivacaine hydrochloride solutions.
