Drug intelligence / Profile preview
N02 is an injectable formulation of bupivacaine microspheres developed by Beijing Biote Pharmaceutical for the management of postoperative pain. Bupivacaine is an amide-type local anesthetic that reversibly binds to and blocks voltage-gated sodium channels on nerve cell membranes, preventing the influx of sodium ions and the subsequent generation and conduction of nerve impulses. By utilizing a microsphere-based sustained-release delivery system, N02 is designed to provide prolonged local analgesia at the surgical site, reducing the need for systemic opioids and improving postoperative recovery. N02 is currently in Phase 1 clinical development in China.
