Overview

Buprelab is a veterinary injectable formulation of buprenorphine hydrochloride, a semi-synthetic opioid derivative. It acts as a high-affinity partial agonist at the mu-opioid receptor and an antagonist at the kappa-opioid receptor. Developed by Labiana, Buprelab is approved and marketed in several European countries for post-operative analgesia in dogs and cats, as well as for the potentiation of the sedative effects of centrally-acting agents in dogs.
