Overview

TAH2211 is a sublingual film formulation containing a combination of buprenorphine and naloxone, developed by Taihe Pharmaceutical for the treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD). Buprenorphine acts as a partial agonist at the mu-opioid receptor, providing enough opioid effect to suppress withdrawal symptoms and cravings without producing the intense euphoria associated with full agonists. Naloxone, a mu-opioid receptor antagonist, is included to deter intravenous misuse; when taken sublingually as intended, naloxone has poor bioavailability and minimal effect, but if the film is dissolved and injected, it precipitates withdrawal symptoms. TAH2211 utilizes Taihe's proprietary drug delivery technology to provide a stable and effective alternative to existing sublingual treatments like Suboxone.
