Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bupropion + GSK189075 is a drug combination consisting of the norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor (NDRI) bupropion and the sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor remogliflozin etabonate (formerly GSK189075). Developed by GlaxoSmithKline, this combination was evaluated in Phase I clinical trials (such as NCT00625859) to assess the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic interactions of the two agents when co-administered. Bupropion is traditionally used for major depressive disorder and smoking cessation, while remogliflozin etabonate is a prodrug investigated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).
