Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Buqi Tongqiao is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula, an empirical compound developed by Professor Gui Xiong-bin. It is composed of multiple herbal ingredients including Astragalus membranaceus, Codonopsis pilosula, Glycyrrhiza uralensis, Xanthium sibiricum, Magnolia biondii, Asarum sieboldii, Schizonepeta tenuifolia, Platycodon grandiflorus, Otolithum, Cimicifuga foetida, and Bupleurum chinense. The formula has been investigated for its therapeutic effects in various conditions. In the context of IgA nephropathy, Buqi Tongqiao has been shown to alleviate renal pathological damage and improve renal function by regulating the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway. For allergic rhinitis, its mechanism is suggested to involve modulating the gut microbiota and influencing the gut-lung axis, thereby regulating immune and inflammatory responses.
