Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Burow-VULM is an otic solution containing aluminum acetate, developed and manufactured by the Slovakian pharmaceutical company VULM. It serves as an astringent and mild antiseptic with anti-inflammatory properties, primarily indicated for the treatment of external ear canal conditions such as otitis externa. The active ingredient, aluminum acetate, works by precipitating proteins, which leads to the contraction of tissues and blood vessels. This action helps to reduce swelling, discharge, and irritation while creating a protective layer on the skin. Additionally, the solution's acidic nature helps to inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi in the ear canal, facilitating the healing of the inflamed auditory canal.
