Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Bursaplex** is a USDA-licensed veterinary live-virus immune-complex vaccine for chickens that helps prevent infectious bursal disease caused by infectious bursal disease virus. Marketed by Zoetis as Poulvac Bursaplex, it contains a live intermediate-plus Winterfield 2512 strain of infectious bursal disease virus combined with specific bursal disease antiserum. The antigen-antibody complex is designed to permit early, uniform immunization despite maternally derived antibodies; it is administered by subcutaneous injection at hatch or by in ovo injection into 18- to 19-day embryonated chicken eggs.
