Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bushen Fangchuan is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by Taiji Group Fuling Pharmaceutical Factory for the treatment of respiratory diseases, including bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The preparation, typically administered as a tablet or capsule, consists of eight herbal ingredients designed to "warm yang and tonify the kidney" according to TCM principles. Mechanistically, it demonstrates anti-inflammatory effects by reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-8 and IL-17 while increasing levels of the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10 and plasma cortisol. Clinical trials have shown its efficacy in improving lung function (FEV1, VC), reducing the frequency of acute exacerbations, and enhancing the quality of life in patients with moderate to severe stable COPD.
