Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bushen Huoxue Simiao Formula is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal composition developed for the management of postoperative complications following surgery for upper urinary tract stones. Specifically, it is used to alleviate symptoms associated with the placement of a double-J stent, such as hematuria, bladder irritation, and flank pain. The formula is designed based on the TCM principles of "Bushen" (tonifying the kidney) and "Huoxue" (invigorating blood circulation) to address the underlying "kidney deficiency" and "blood stasis" believed to occur post-surgery. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 4 clinical trials by The Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine to establish evidence-based efficacy and safety for clinical practice.
