Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bushen Jiangya (BSJY) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) granule formulation developed for the treatment of essential hypertension, specifically the kidney deficiency type. Based on the traditional Liuwei Dihuang pill, it contains a complex mixture of herbal extracts including Rehmannia Glutinosa, Corni Fructus, Eucommia Bark, Gastrodia, Notoginseng Root, Cortex of the Peony Tree Root, Crataegus Fruit, and Alisma. BSJY exerts its antihypertensive and organ-protective effects by suppressing ventricular hypertrophy and inflammatory responses through the regulation of the ERK and PI3K/Akt signaling pathways. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials as an adjunctive therapy to standard treatments like amlodipine.
