Overview
Bushen-Jianpi Decoction (BSJPD) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, specifically at Shuguang Hospital. It is primarily investigated for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and colorectal cancer in patients presenting with specific TCM syndromes, such as liver and kidney yin deficiency and spleen deficiency. The decoction is a complex botanical preparation composed of multiple herbs, including *Rehmannia glutinosa*, *Cornus officinalis*, *Dioscorea oppositifolia*, and *Panax ginseng*. Mechanistically, BSJPD is thought to exert anti-tumor effects by modulating the PI3K-Akt-mTOR signaling pathway and inducing apoptosis in malignant cells. Clinical research, including trial NCT03189992, has evaluated its efficacy in improving survival rates and quality of life, often in combination with other TCM preparations like cinobufotalin injection.
