Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bushen Jiedu Formula (BSJDF) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal prescription investigated for its anti-cancer and anti-metastatic properties, particularly in colorectal cancer (CRC). The formula is designed to modulate the tumor microenvironment by inhibiting the M2-type polarization of macrophages, a process that typically promotes tumor progression and metastasis. Mechanistically, BSJDF acts by downregulating the expression of the long non-coding RNA RPPH1 (lncRPPH1) within tumor-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs). By reducing lncRPPH1 levels, BSJDF prevents the EV-mediated induction of M2 macrophages, thereby suppressing the metastasis of colorectal cancer to the liver.
