Bushen Jieyu Tiaochong Formula (BJTF) is a traditional Chinese medicine prescription used primarily for the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). It functions by reducing apoptosis of granulosa cells through modulation of the PERK-ATF4-CHOP signaling pathway, which is involved in cellular stress responses. BJTF has been shown in animal models to normalize hormone levels, reduce cystic follicle dilation, and alleviate psychological stress-related behavioral changes associated with PCOS. The formula aims to restore balance between kidney function, Tiangui (a concept related to female reproductive hormones), Chongren meridians, and uterus function according to traditional Chinese medicine principles. BJTF also demonstrates potential cardiovascular protective effects by lowering risks associated with coronary heart disease in PCOS patients.
