Bushen Qingtou Fang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by researchers at Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B (CHB). The recipe is formulated based on the TCM principles of tonifying the kidney ("Bushen") and clearing or venting pathogenic factors ("Qingtou"), which are believed to address the underlying deficiencies and viral persistence in chronic HBV carriers. It is typically administered as decoction-free granules. In clinical research, it has been evaluated in randomized, double-blind trials to assess its efficacy in promoting HBeAg seroconversion and reducing viral load in chronic hepatitis B virus carriers, often compared against other TCM strategies such as the Bushen Jianpi recipe.
