Overview
Bushen Tianjing is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula developed by Xiyuan Hospital of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, specifically designed to treat decreased ovarian reserve (DOR) and associated infertility. The formula is based on the TCM principle of tonifying the kidney and replenishing vital essence (Jing) to restore reproductive health. Pharmacologically, Bushen Tianjing has been shown to regulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian (HPO) axis, improve the microenvironment of the ovaries, and protect granulosa cells from oxidative stress and apoptosis. Recent research highlights its ability to activate the SIRT1/FOXO3a signaling pathway, thereby enhancing ovarian antioxidant capacity and promoting follicular development. It is typically administered as an oral granule or decoction and is used both as a standalone therapy and as an adjuvant to assisted reproductive technologies (ART).
