Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bushen Tongzhi Formula (BSTZF) is a standardized Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal preparation developed by Peking Union Medical College Hospital. It is specifically designed to treat diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) and associated infertility, targeting the TCM pattern of kidney deficiency. The formula is a fixed-composition mixture of multiple herbal ingredients processed into a granulated formulation for oral administration. BSTZF is currently being evaluated in the Phase 3 PRIME study as a pretreatment for women aged 22-39 undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). The therapeutic goal is to improve cumulative clinical pregnancy rates by enhancing ovarian function and oocyte quality through the regulation of the reproductive axis.
