Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bushen Yijing Decoction (BSYJ) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) polyherbal formula widely used for the treatment of primary osteoporosis, systemic sclerosis (scleroderma), and Alzheimer's disease. The decoction typically consists of several key herbal ingredients, including *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huangqi), *Poria cocos* (Fuling), *Rehmannia glutinosa* (Dihuang), Donkey-hide gelatin (Asini Corii Colla), *Cornus officinalis* (Shanzhuyu), *Dioscorea japonica* (Shanyao), and *Carthamus tinctorius* (Honghua). BSYJ exerts its therapeutic effects through multiple molecular pathways: in osteoporosis, it promotes osteogenic differentiation and inhibits adipogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) by downregulating lncRNA XIST, upregulating miR-17-5p, and activating the β-catenin signaling pathway; in systemic sclerosis, it alleviates dermal fibrosis and endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EndoMT) by suppressing miR-26a expression, restoring FLI1 levels, and inhibiting the AKT/mTOR pathway.
