Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Busulipo is a liposome/lipid complex formulation of the alkylating chemotherapy agent busulfan developed by Pharmalink as a safer myeloablative conditioning agent for use prior to hematopoietic stem cell or bone marrow transplantation in cancer patients.[12][10][16][17] By encapsulating busulfan in a lipid-based delivery system, Busulipo is designed to improve the safety and stability of busulfan, potentially reducing toxicity and enabling more controlled myeloablation compared with conventional busulfan formulations.[12][16][17] The product has received US orphan drug designation for use in bone marrow transplantation and has been advanced toward pivotal clinical development as a conditioning therapy.[12][10][17]
