Butac (BuTAC) is a novel, synthetic muscarinic acetylcholine receptor ligand that acts as an agonist and antagonist at various muscarinic receptor subtypes. Specifically, it shows agonist activity at the M2 and M4 muscarinic acetylcholine receptors (with full efficacy at M2 and partial agonism at M1 and M4), while acting as an antagonist at the M1, M3, and M5 subtypes.
