Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Butasam is a veterinary injectable formulation containing butaphosphan (an organic phosphorus compound) and cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12). Developed by Sams Pharmaceutical and manufactured by Impact Labs, it is used as a metabolic stimulant, tonic, and roborant in livestock (such as cattle, sheep, goats, swine, and horses) and poultry. Butaphosphan acts as an organic source of phosphorus that participates in energy metabolism, supports liver function, and stimulates fatigued smooth and cardiac muscles. Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) is a crucial cofactor in metabolic processes, particularly in gluconeogenesis, protein synthesis, and red blood cell formation. Together, the combination is indicated for the prevention and treatment of metabolic disorders, ketosis, postpartum complications, and general debility or exhaustion in animals.
