Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Buzhong Shibuchang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) decoction developed by West China Hospital of Sichuan University for the management of Low Anterior Resection Syndrome (LARS) in patients following colorectal cancer surgery. LARS encompasses a range of bowel dysfunctions, including fecal urgency, increased frequency, and incontinence, which significantly impact quality of life. The formula is designed to tonify the middle jiao and regulate intestinal function, thereby improving anorectal coordination and stool consistency. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials to establish its efficacy and safety as a non-invasive therapeutic option for post-operative recovery in rectal cancer patients.
