Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**BV-9238** is a proprietary oral Ayurvedic polyherbal formulation developed by Bioved for anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic applications. It contains specialized standardized extracts of *Withania somnifera*, *Boswellia serrata*, *Zingiber officinale*, and *Curcuma longa*. In lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages, the formulation reduced tumor necrosis factor-alpha and nitric oxide production without observed cytotoxicity. Oral BV-9238 also reduced arthritis severity in adjuvant-induced arthritis rats and paw edema in carrageenan-induced paw-edema rats. Its evidence base for rheumatoid arthritis is preclinical; the available public literature does not establish human clinical efficacy for BV-9238 itself.
