Overview

BV GA733-2E is a recombinant protein cancer vaccine consisting of the extracellular domain of the GA733-2 antigen, which is also known as EpCAM (Epithelial Cell Adhesion Molecule), CO17-1A, or KSA. The protein is expressed using a baculovirus (BV) vector system. It was developed as an active immunotherapy for colorectal carcinoma (CRC) to induce both humoral (antibody) and cellular (T-cell) immune responses against tumor cells expressing the GA733-2 antigen. Unlike anti-idiotypic antibodies that mimic a single epitope, BV GA733-2E contains multiple potentially immunogenic epitopes of the extracellular domain. In clinical trials, it has been administered with aluminum hydroxide as an adjuvant.
