Overview

BVAC-Neo is a personalized, autologous cell-based therapeutic cancer vaccine developed by Cellid using its proprietary **CeliVax** platform. Unlike other candidates in the BVAC series that target shared tumor-associated antigens, BVAC-Neo is tailored to individual patients by incorporating **neo-antigens** (neo-epitopes) identified through next-generation sequencing (NGS) of the patient's specific tumor mutations. The vaccine is composed of autologous B cells and monocytes that are loaded with these patient-specific neo-antigens and **alpha-galactosylceramide** (α-GalCer). α-GalCer serves as a potent ligand for Natural Killer T (NKT) cells; its inclusion facilitates the maturation of the antigen-presenting cells and triggers a coordinated immune response involving both NKT cells and cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) to target and eliminate tumor cells. BVAC-Neo is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of various solid tumors as a personalized immunotherapy.
