Overview

BVAC-P is a preclinical-stage therapeutic cancer vaccine developed by Cellid, utilizing the proprietary CeliVax platform. This autologous cell-based therapy is engineered to target two key prostate cancer antigens: Prostatic Acid Phosphatase (PAP) and Glutamate Carboxypeptidase 2 (also known as Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen or PSMA). The CeliVax technology involves loading patient-derived B cells and monocytes with these tumor-specific antigens and the potent NKT cell ligand alpha-galactosylceramide (α-GalCer). Upon administration, the vaccine activates a comprehensive immune response, including the rapid activation of Natural Killer (NK) and Natural Killer T (NKT) cells, followed by the induction of long-term adaptive T cell immunity against cells expressing PAP and PSMA. BVAC-P is primarily being developed for the treatment of prostate cancer, with potential applications in renal cell cancer and glioblastoma.
